In defense of dandelions

dandelion-princessHow can I not love a month when, regardless of the weather, everywhere I turn there are flowers, flowers, and more flowers, against a backdrop of green so bright it makes me dizzy?  I do love it, and I love watching your children discover every flower as though it were the first.  Let me just say that dandelions are a child’s best friend. They grow anywhere, they are bright and beautiful, you can actually draw with them and eat them, and no one ever tells you not to pick them!  They have a bad reputation, but they don’t deserve it – they are good friends.
