About the Author: Mia
The Understory’s teacher, Mia Pisano, has been teaching for more than 35 years in a wide variety of classrooms in schools. Mia has an undergraduate degree in Education, and a Master’s Degree in Special Education. Mia received the opportunity to move from elementary school into the magical world of preschool in 2005, and founded The Understory in 2008.
Mia brings patience and playfulness, wisdom and humor, experience and curiosity into her teaching. She strives to listen closely, see and respond with empathy, and to balance stability and flexibility.
